He says he needs to finish "The Winds of Winter" first, then write "A Dream of Spring", and then "Fire and Blood Vol. 2" and that his hope is to write some Dunk and Egg novellas during the release breaks of each book, to prevent the series from catching up with the books like "Game of Thrones" did: "Well, I will worry about that tomorrow.

George R.R. Martin has been writing The Winds of Winter for 11 years. He's done making predictions about when he'll finish, but says he's "maybe" 3/4 done. spoilers. I don't think George R.R. Martin is a bad author or a bad person. I am not going to crap all over him for not releasing Winds of Winter. I don't think he will ever finish the stort because in my opinion he has more of a passion for Westeros and the world he created than he does for A Song of Ice and Fire. He has quite some unhealthy habits and he’s not a woman - men only have a life expectancy of 74,5 years in US (women 80,2 years). I personally don’t think he will finish more than maybe one more book in this statistically 1,5 years. I dont know how he can even finish the story in two books either. As a book fan, and someone who frequents book fan places, I think most of us have completely given up hope of ever getting winds, let alone a dream of spring. The worst part is dance of dragons ends on just like cliffhangers everywhere, and all of these sick ass battles ABOUT to happen.
1. Tauposaurus • 5 yr. ago. Ambition finish the book! Count George of Martins may decide to finish his book, or lose 2 prestige per month. The following must be true: --None of the following must be true. --- Count George: ---- (x) Has not written a Game of Thrones episode in the last 24 months.
It’s great that Martin wants to finish Winds of Winter. But, that isn’t even the last book in the series. What’s the point of reading book six if book seven never comes? It’s already been eight years since the last book. The man gets too easily distracted. We’re still waiting on the last TWO books. Martin is a morbidly obese 71 year old.
Share on reddit. Email to a friend. It's been 12 years since the last novel in George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series was released, and it's fair to say that some fans are becoming

Many in the fandom have given up hope that Winds of Winter will come out, but I believe that we will get it next year and that we will get A Dream of Spring a few years after. After all of the new plot points created in feast and dance, George has created a dozen meereenese knots for him to untangle. Combine this with his other projects he made

I've flip-flopped between both and honestly, for my own sanity, I've decided that if we get the Winds of Winter soon, I'll be pleasantly surprised, but until then, I won't count on anything. I'm absolutely disappointed in him for his indecisiveness, and his desire to make his mark in television which overshadows his other responsibilities, but

George R.R. Martin thinks The Winds of Winter will be released in 2018, perhaps as well as 'Fire and Blood', fictional history book of the Targaryen kings. theguardian This thread is locked

Yeah, his estimation of 75% wasn't reassuring at all. Especially since it's natural for writers (imo) to get into trouble towards the end and have to rethink some of the storylines. Notoriously_So • 10 mo. ago. And then only 4 more years for A Dream of Spring.

Seven POV's die, plus the Prologue/Epilogue POV, which are: Cersei, Barristan, Asha, JonCon, Aeron, Victarion, Areo, plus Sybell Spicer (Prologue) and Stannis (Epilogue). The Brotherhood attack the convoy transporting Edmure Tully. We learn of Lady Spicer’s plans about the Red Wedding, and also a BwB plannet second Red Wedding. Martin said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December 2022 he had "like 1,100, 1,200 pages" done, with 400 or 500 to go before The Winds of Winter was complete. Almost a year on, the author seemingly still has the same amount of work to be done. Emphasis mine, so I'm assuming the latter. qQNvhf.
