(search my posts, it was August 2011). The key learning for me was correct disconnection of the gearbox control cables.

Re: 1.6 HDI engine - it is the good old Peugeot/Citroen engine also used by Ford. Very reliable and great performance but requiring regular oil changes to keep the turbo and DPF happy (the service schedule list only the maximum recommended distances between services).
